Our AGM this year will be on Thursday 22 April at 7.30. We will be sending the Zoom link to all members by email, and it will also appear on the Events page of this website. The AGM will probably last about 30 minutes and will be followed by a talk about Boston Manor by John Collins who is Historic Houses Senior Manager for Hounslow. Boston Manor House in Brentford is a Grade 1 listed Jacobean manor house built in 1623. A few years ago it was in a very sorry state but thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other funding bodies it has undergone a massive restoration project. The park which surrounds the house is the largest public open space in the Brentford area. It has a beautiful lake, and stretches as far as the Grand Union Canal. The park is also being restored and updated. Further details of the work in the park is available from the Boston Manor Park blog. We hope that John Collins will tell us about the history of the house and park, talk about the regeneration work, and be able to say when the house will reopen to the public. Please Zoom in and enjoy his talk. No one need see that you are eating dinner.
