Decision time for Perceval House

posted in: Planning | 0

We have been keeping members updated on the Council’s development plans for its Perceval House site. It is now decision time – on 17 February, the Council’s plans to redevelop Perceval House go to planning committee, with the officers’ recommendation to councillors to approve. The Society, along with other local groups and more than 1,100 residents, has objected to the proposals, yet our views are not being taken into account. These proposals are wrong for Central Ealing and should not be approved; if they are, the impact will be devastating. While there is no guarantee of further objections being taken into account, you may still submit comments if you have not already done so. Click on the ‘OBJECT NOW!’ button below to go straight to the Council’s website.

IF YOU THINK SKYSCRAPERS ARE WRONG FOR EALING TOWN CENTRE, OBJECT NOW!

Some suggested reasons to object:

  • Overdevelopment; 477 flats in four towers
  • Height; a 26-storey tower is out-of-keeping with the area
  • Overshadowing; the development would overshadow and seriously reduce daylight in surrounding homes
  • Historic England’s identification of the harm to Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas and views from Walpole Park has been underplayed and cannot be deemed acceptable by citing alleged benefits
  • Lack of social housing provision on a Council-owned site
