Our Annual Award competition is going ahead this year in spite of Covid-19. So if you know of a project which fits with our criteria please consider encouraging the owner/designer to submit an entry before the deadline on 14 September. Don’t be discouraged by the fact that last year’s winner was the amazing Pitzhanger Manor renovation which had previously won national awards and publicity. Many awards and commendations go to private houses such as Bluebell House in Waldemar Avenue (see picture) our 2012 Award winner or house extensions such as one in Grange Park W5 (commended 2018), or new facilities such as Acton Skatepark (commended 2019). The Award scheme covers new buildings, renovated or remodelled buildings and open space schemes (such as parks, gardens, playgrounds, landscaping). Projects must have been completed during the past two years, and have been in use since at least since April 2020 (ie 6 months prior to the date of judging). You can see the archive of previous winners on our website here. The deadline for entries is Monday 14 September, and judging takes place on Sunday 4 October. The nomination Form can be downloaded here.
