summer 2019 newsletterMembers of the Society will have received the latest newsletter delivered to their inbox.  Our Acting Chairman, Ann Chapman, surveys and summarises the current state of play with regard to the development of the Town Hall, Perceval House, the Hoover Building, Crossrail and Filmworks. There’s an account of our recent event, probably the last at the Town Hall, which comprised an excellent lecture by Ursula Martin on Ada Lovelace and the unveiling of a plaque in her memory. The plaque will be installed in Fordhook Road at a later date.  There is a piece about the reopening of Pitzhanger Manor after its major refurbishment, and the new exhibition of works by Anish Kapoor in the Gallery. Tony Williams has written a short history of our Award, marking 30 years of annual awards for excellent building and landscape design in the Borough. Finally, there is a brief celebration of  Robert Gurd, our tireless, knowledgeable and efficient chairman for the last 21 years. You can download the newsletter here.  If you want to see the (almost) complete archive of newsletters, it is available via our newsletter archive pages.
