New plaque now in place

Our Ada Lovelace plaque, which was unveiled in the Town Hall on 9 May, is now up. It has been erected on the side wall of Grimshaw Estate Agents W5 3LD, on the corner of Fordhook Avenue and Uxbridge Road. Ada Lovelace was a Victorian mathematician, the daughter of Lord Byron and Anne Isabella Milbanke. As a young woman she lived in Fordhook House, near the Common and close to this location.  The Society is grateful to Ealing Council for funding via the Ward Forum, to Grimshaws for allowing us to erect the plaque, to Chris and Steve at SSEC Community at Heart Programme, and to the man in the cherry picker who attached the plaque (as shown in the picture) whilst under scrutiny from a crowd of people.
