On Saturday 22 June Society members and others set off from Pitzhanger Manor and walked the 8.7 miles to the wonderful Soane Museum in Lincolns Inn Fields. This was a walk John Soane regularly undertook, travelling between his country house in Ealing and his town house. We stopped for coffee and lunch on the way, and spotted the many plaques on buildings erected by the Society and, outside Ealing by English Heritage and other bodies. Walkers were given this handout with a list of interesting features to spot. The walk was to celebrate Civic Day, and was a repeat of a walk we organised 2 years ago. Various members of the group dropped out along the way, but 5 of us made it to the end.
