30 years of Awards

2019 is the 30th anniversary of the annual Ealing Civic Society Awards for excellent new design projects in the Borough. A complete archive is available in the Awards section of our website. Over the years we’ve given awards for stunning new schools, health centres, libraries and private houses, as well as new landscapes such as the Woodlands Park in Acton (2006), Northala Fields in Northolt (2011), Southall Manor Gardens (2012) and Walpole Park (2015). Several beautiful house extensions such as the Bluebell House (pictured left, 2012) have won awards or been commended, plus a large number of school extensions. Shops, a hotel, churches, the Sikh Gurdwara Temple (2003), the Kings Street W3 pedestrianisation scheme (1993) and even the Glaxo multi-storey car park in Greenford (1994) have all been recognised. So if you know of or live in a new or refurbished building or landscape which meets the criteria listed in our nomination form and has been in use for at least 6 months, please do submit an application for the 2019 Award by Monday 16 September, and come along to our Awards ceremony on Wednesday 23 October to see if your project has won. You can download the 2019 nomination form here. This year the Award will be presented by our President, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles. Details of the event are on our events page. All are welcome.
