This year we celebrated Civic Day on 17 June with 2 free walks which were led by Blue Badge Guide, Dafydd Wyn Phillips. The walks were based on based on a historic walk originally drawn up by John Foster White. We met beside the lovely meadow planting on Haven Green, opposite Haven Green Court. It was an incredibly hot day, but Dafydd kept us all interested and entertained.The first walk went north of Haven Green and, after a short comfort break, the second explored the area to the south of the green. We learnt fascinating details about many of the wonderful old houses in central Ealing, our historic churches and marvelous pubs. Ann Chapman, from the Society thanked Dafydd for keeping us informed and entertained despite the heat.
