Charles Jones

Our latest plaque will be unveiled by the Mayor at the Town Hall on Tuesday 10 April. The plaque will be to commemorate Charles Jones (1830-1913), Ealing’s first Borough Architect and Engineer. Jones was in post for 50 years and was responsible for many civic buildings, schools and churches in Ealing, including the Town Hall. He lived at 5 Windsor Road, where the plaque will be installed at a future date. Following the unveiling Gavin Leonard, a former Borough Architect himself, will talk about the history of the Town Hall. These events will be preceded by the Society’s AGM, beginning at 7.30 in the Nelson Room. Picture of Charles Jones reproduced by permission of the Library Services of the London Borough of Ealing.
