Ealing Civic Day walks repeated

Civic Day walkMake it Sunday Events in Bond Street are running this month on 20 and 27 August organised by Make it Ealing (the Central Ealing Business Improvement District company). One of the events on Sunday 27 August is a repeat of our Civic Day walk on 17 June conducted by Blue Badge Guide Dafydd Wyn Phillips. This turned out to be the hottest day of the year which might have put some people off going on the walk so this Sunday, with luck, should have more suitable weather for walking. The original walk was in two parts: the first based north of Haven Green took in parts of North Ealing from St Stephen’s Church to the West and St Peter’s Church to the East; the second was based south of Haven Green taking in the Polish Church in the East and Walpole Park in the West ending at St Mary’s Church in South Ealing. The walks are based on a historic walk devised by former Civic Society member John Foster White in the 1970s. These walks were updated last year by Historic England as an app and may be downloaded on smartphones and tablets. Find it by searching for “Walk History” in the Android or Apple App Store.

The walks on Sunday will take similar routes and are bookable at the link below. Those who went on the Civic Day walks reported that they were excellent occasions given by a very informative and knowledgeable guide. Places are already filling up so don’t leave it too late to book… https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/walking-tour-of-ealing-free-tickets-36832629386?aff=eac2/
