Planning Update

ArchitectureThe Society regularly comments on major planning applications in the Borough. In late February to April 2016 our Environment Committee considered 16 planning applications from Acton, Ealing, Hanwell, Northolt and Southall. We objected to several schemes including the redevelopment of a Presbyterian church in Drayton Green which would detract from the setting of a Grade 11 listed chapel, the proposed demolition of a locally listed former headmaster’s house at St Marks Primary School in Hanwell, overdevelopment in Portal Way North Acton, high rise (24 storey) student accommodation in Victoria Road, Acton, and development and building on Metropolitan Open Land at Smith’s Farm in Northolt.
