A 30 minute BBC programme about Ealing from 1982 has recently been uploaded to YouTube. The presenter is Fred Housego, and the title of the programme is: History on Your Doorstep – Ealing. It’s fascinating to see the streets of Ealing, including the Broadway, High Street, St Mary’s Road, and many of the back streets in 1980, but also to learn more about the history of central Ealing from early maps and census returns. Highly recommended. You can view it here.
