AGM slideOur Chairman, Robert Gurd, reviewed the Society’s work over the past year at our 2014 AGM. This included involvement in a large number of planning issues: Arcadia, Dickens Yard, the ex-Empire Cinema, Acton Town Hall, Walpole Park/Pitzhanger Manor, Gunnersbury Park and Museum, Ealing Broadway Station, Warren Farm, and neighbourhood planning. The Society’s Award Scheme for good architecture and design attracted a wide range of entries, and the awards were presented by Toby Young in November. An ECS plaque was unveiled for the organist John Compton in May, and in November Boris Johnson unveiled the Iron Duke sculpture which is part of the Hanger Lane bridges scheme.
